It certainly has paid off for me! Now 'arrested development' has nothing to do with lack of intelligence or the absence of a moral compass. In fact, it can represent quite the opposite. It is simply setting the basic boundaries of one's life course early on. Even back in high school I saw nothing that was being sold to me that made adulthood look very appealing. All I really saw were adult teachers faking it and seeing if we would take the same bait they did. I preferred jumping off cliffs and constructing wings on the way down, aka the accelerated learning track.
